Worn by Aydin Yelken (1939-2022; 9 international matches, 2x Turkish champions 1x cup winner) in the U-23 international match England v Turkey on March 22nd, 1962 in Southampton. Swaped jersey. Status: AAA. --short sleeve jersey; Size approx. S; Association logo and back number made of linen - each sewn on. Shoulder seams inside reinforced with fabric strips; Jersey only has one side seam! (only available with old jerseys). Two darning points. The jersey comes from the collection of Joe Kirkup (*1939; West Ham; 1965 European Cup). Kirkup was used as a defender in this game and swapped this jersey with Yelken after the game. Parts of his collection, including this jersey, were auctioned off in England on September 4, 2024. Included: program booklet for this game. Away jerseys from the Turkish national team are extremely rare.
